Maybe There’s a Reason We’re Not Eating These Foods

The NY Times strikes SEO gold with this piece, “The 11 Best Foods You Aren’t Eating.” Three people have forwarded me the story; it’s at the top of the Times’ “Most Read” list, and I can practically hear my mother boxing up jars of beets to send to me (for the record, mom has always been quite fond of beta vulgaris, which worried me as a kid).

Still, the main thing this list seems loaded with is qualifiers. Drink POM because it “appears to lower blood pressure.” Tumeric “may have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.” Cinnamon—ah, who doesn’t like cinnamon?
